Welcome to my brand new (12-13-11) site,
I prefer to let the music speak for itself, so it pains me to only have words on here for now. People mainly know me as a bassist in the Detroit area, but I've been secretly practicing cello again for the the past few months. I originally started on the cello then after three years I switched in eighth grade to bass. I've made quite a career of it so far, and I feel that it's safe to say that I"m a top call player in the area. I've been a professional musician almost exclusively for several years now. Here's me sharing the stage with John Clayton at the Detroit Jazz Festival a couple years ago:
I'm in the blue circle. That's John conducting the band. My apologies to Jeff and Gerald Clayton, for disgracing their images with that blue circle I made. They deserve better.
Anyway, this web page is my way of coming out of the cello closet and announcing that I have been playing it a lot! I feel like a kid again and I think I'm getting good enough to deserve a website. I was surprised to find so few people out there who play jazz cello, it's almost shocking. I was just playing cello for fun, but when I could find so little about it online, I decided it would be a worth buying a web page.
I'm hoping this will become a place where string players can get together and talk about jazz. But this page is in it's infancy, so please be patient while I get things up and running. First thing I'll do is record a video of me playing, so you know I"m not jive. Stay tuned.
